A small, accountable kennel of Silver Star Shepherds — bred for protection capability, working-titled lineage, and the equanimity to live in a real family home.
The Silver Star Shepherd is a working-line German Shepherd refined over nineteen seasons in the Rocky Mountains. Each litter is bred to a single standard: a dog stable enough to sleep at your child's feet, capable enough to stop a threat at your gate.
We are not a volume kennel. We breed two to three litters a year, vet every applicant in person, and place puppies based on temperament fit — not waitlist position. Every dog leaves with verified hip/elbow clearances, full DNA panel, and a lifetime of breeder support.
I'm Hannah. I've shared my home with German Shepherds since I was eight. I started breeding under my own name in 2006 — small, slow, and only with people I trust over a long phone call.
I do every health check, every temperament test, every video update, every two-AM whelp myself. My dogs live in my house — none kennelled, none farmed out. When you buy a Silver Star puppy, you aren't buying a brand. You're buying my reputation.
"If your home isn't right for one of my dogs, I'll tell you before you fill out a form."
Five questions. Honest answers. We don't sell to applicants who don't fit — the quiz tells you before you fill out a form.
Spec sheet with verified temperament radar. Three-generation interactive pedigree. OFA hip/elbow ratings. DNA panel. Full title history of sire and dam. Video documentation from weeks 4 through 8.
VIEW · SAMPLE · DOSSIER →Family-companion focus, stable working temperament. Mira is our primary breeding female; the sire was selected from a proven external working line. Both parents are health-cleared with full documents shared on shortlist.
Hip and elbow X-rays evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We breed only from "Good" or "Excellent" graded parents.
Embark or Wisdom Panel screening for 250+ genetic conditions — DM, MDR1, EOAD. Results delivered with every puppy.
We take dogs back at any age, for any reason. No Silver Star dog has ever ended up in a shelter, and never will.
Every application is reviewed by Hannah personally. Expect a video call within ten days, an in-person visit before placement, and ongoing dialogue for the life of the dog.
